Lead by Linus Gerdemann, Team Milram will be at the start of the Vuelta a Andalucia (February 21 – 25 / UCI 2.1) as of this coming Sunday.  The German ProTour team will take on the five stages with seven Germans.  Markus Fothen, Johannes Fröhlinger, Christian Knees, Matthias Ruß, Paul Voß and Fabian Wegmann will support their captain Gerdemann on the approximately 676 kilometers across southern Spain.

„In the last few days I have been held back a little by a cold, unfortunately,“ Linus Gerdemann explained. „I caught the cold in in the cool and wet conditions at the Mallorca Challenge.  But since my form was quite good going into that race, I am optimistic that I will do well in Andalucia.“

The 56th edition of the Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol starts in Jaen,  in the northeast of the Spanish province Andalucia.  In contrast to last year, there is no prologue in 2010.  From Jaen, the race runs over 676 kilometers through the south of Spain, until reaching its finish in the fifth and final stage in Antequera, in the Andalusian province Malaga.

Last year Martin Velits brought in a surprise with three Top Ten finishes and a fourth overall ranking.  Linus Gerdemann was long in the Top Ten after finishing tenth in the prologue, ending up 13th overall.
